On Wednesday night, the White Sox did one of the most exciting things in baseball by turning a lightning quick 5-4-3 triple play. In case you missed, here’s another look at the beauty…
? TRIPLE PLAY ALERT ?

Christopher Kamka of NBC Sports Chicago was quick to point out that this was the first triple play turned by the White Sox since the wild 2016 season. During that time, the South Siders became the first team to spin three triple plays in a season since the 1979 Red Sox and Athletics (Elias). If we’re counting Spring Training, which of course we are here at Sox On 35th, that’s four triple plays right there. Because of tonight’s special occurrence, let’s turn back the clock and check those out again.
March 10th vs. Kansas City Royals (Spring Training)
A fly ball to left field caught the Kansas City runners off guard, allowing for an easy three outs.

April 22th vs. Texas Rangers
The craziest triple play of the group is undoubtedly the 9-3-2-6-2-5 that was just all sorts of confusing.
And now in video form, Just your typical 9-3-2-6-2-5 triple play.https://t.co/PnI8ySGD0z

May 18th vs. Astros
Look away Houston fans, because the Astros were the victim of the triple play back in 2016, too. It just so happened to also come in the 5-4-3 fashion.
The Chicago White Sox are kinda good at getting 3 outs really fast this season. #TriplePlayhttps://t.co/vkjNGCKxHg

July 8th vs. Braves
“Who needs probability when you have the 2016 Chicago White Sox.” – Jason Benetti.
No, this isn’t a replay.
