Monday, March 12

White Sox vs. Mariners at Peoria Sports Complex, 6:40 pm MDT

  • Adam Engel belted a home run on the first pitch of the game and hit another bomb to left center in the top of the ninth
  • Dylan Cease had another excellent outing and finished with 3.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K
  • Zack Collins hit a moonshot home run in the top of the fourth and made an excellent throw to gun down a runner at third base
  • Eloy Jimenez continued to make things look easy at the plate by hitting a ball off the end of the bat back up the middle for a single
  • Ian Clarkin had a nice relief outing (2 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 K) to close out the game
  • WHITE SOX WIN, 4-2!

Tuesday, March 13

White Sox off day

Mariners vs. Rockies at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, 2:10 pm MDT

  • Former White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham went 2-4 with one run scored and one strikeout for the Mariners
  • Rockies win, 8-7

Wednesday, March 14

White Sox vs. Brewers at Maryvale Baseball Park, 1:05 pm MDT

  • Carson Fulmer got roughed up and finished with 1.2 IP, 5 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 3 BB, 0 K
  • The White Sox didn’t have much going at the plate and finished with five hits collectively. The video below shows Yolmer Sanchez grounding into an inning-ending double play
  • Brewers hitters teed off on White Sox pitching. Braun (2), Shaw, Hager, and Broxton all hit home runs in an offensive explosion for Milwaukee
  • Brewers win, 11-3
  • On my way out of the stadium, I ran into White Sox Vice-President/General Manager, Rick Hahn. He was kind enough to talk Sox for a minute and take a picture with me. In Hahn We Trust!IMG_1567

Thursday, March 15

Minor League workouts at Camelback Ranch backfields, 9:30 am MDT

  • Zack Burdi took some time to sign autographs for fans on his way to the practice fieldsIMG_1573
  • White Sox 2017 second round draft pick Gavin Sheets hit a few rockets during batting practice
  • On a different field, Blake Rutherford showed off his swing

White Sox vs. Angels at Tempe Diablo Stadium, 6:10 pm MDT

  • Lucas Giolito had a great outing and finished with 5.1 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 4 K
  • Ryan Cordell showed off his speed on a third-inning RBI triple
  • Jacob May made a fantastic diving catch in the fifth inning
  • Leury Garcia went 3-5 with two RBI, a run scored and a strikeout
  • White Sox relievers Luis Avilan,  Danny Farquhar, Joakim Soria, and Aaron Bummer held the Angels scoreless over 3.2 innings to close out the game
  • WHITE SOX WIN, 7-2!

After a great week of Spring Training, I can’t wait for the season to start. Stay tuned for updates throughout the 2018 regular season from Section 149!
