What happens next? All of the above players will advance to a 28-hour election to decide who will start the 2019 MLB All-Star Game. The election will begin this Wednesday, June 26th at 12:00 PM ET/11:00 AM CT and end on Thursday June 27th at 4:00 PM ET/3:00 PM CT. One player will be selected for each infield position and three will be selected for each outfield slot. The American League will also have a player chosen to serve as the designated hitter. The winners will be announced on June 27th at 7:00 PM ET/6:00 PM CT on ESPN.

If you’re wondering, players like Tim Anderson, Jose Abreu, and Yoan Moncada all still have the chance to make the All-Star Game as reserves, but they will not serve as starters. Lucas Giolito and Alex Colome have also made their cases to be a part of the pitching staff, which along with the reserves, will be decided on between the player ballot and the Commissioner’s Office. We’ll find out if any of these guys make it on June 30th at 5:30 PM ET/4:30 PM CT on ESPN.

The 2019 MLB All-Star Game will be held at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio on July 9th.
