With voting for the 2021 MLB All-Star Game in full swing, the league released its first balloting update for phase one on Monday. Among the current leaders on the American League side of the voting are four White Sox players, propelled by Yoan Moncada.
Moncada comes in second among third baseman with 215,295 votes, trailing Boston’s Rafael Devers by just 235,747. First baseman Jose Abreu (146,549) and catcher Yasmani Grandal (141,801) also captured the two-spot at their respective positions, with Tim Anderson (177,320) receiving the third highest totals for shortstops, and second baseman Nick Madrigal (125,161) and designated hitter Yermin Mercedes (132,247) ranking fourth.

Now, in order to advance to the second phase of voting, players must rank in the top three at their positions. The first phase of All-Star voting will conclude on Thursday, June 24th at 2:59 p.m. CDT.
After that, phase two will begin on Monday, June 28th, with fans voting for one of three finalists at each position to determine the starters. The four-day window for phase two will conclude on Thursday, July 1st, with pitchers and reserves for both leagues being determined through player ballots and commissioner’s office selections.
