Editor’s Note: White Sox announce Danny Mendick left the game with “right knee discomfort.”
Will the injury train ever stop for the White Sox?
Danny Mendick was the latest injury victim on the South Side, injuring his leg after a collision with outfielder Adam Haseley on a pop-up to end the second inning.
Mendick was unable to put much weight on his leg on his way out of the game, needing help to limp off of the field. He was replaced the following inning by Leury Garcia, who has been nursing a side injury of his own.
Mendick was 1-for-1 in the game with a leadoff single and has been incredible in relief of Tim Anderson as of late. He is hitting .289/.343/.443 on the season in 106 plate appearances while playing well at all three infield positions. Should he miss any extended time, the White Sox will likely need to supplement from the minors, as Leury Garcia is still currently nursing injuries.
We will continue to keep you updated on the situation as we know more.
