Andrew Benintendi hit his first home run in Spring Training, but the White Sox came up short against the Dodgers this afternoon.
Michael Kopech made his second start of the spring today and struggled with command, which caused his pitch count to build up fast. Though he was originally slated for four innings today, Kopech only went 2.1 innings and allowed three hits and two walks while also striking out three. Other notables pitchers included Jake Diekman, who put up a clean outing allowing only one walk, and Joe Kelly, who also had a scoreless frame allowing just one hit.
The offense was led by Andrew Benintendi today as he launched his first long ball of the spring. Jake Burger continued to make his case for the Opening Day roster as he recorded two hits with one RBI. Adam Haseley also had a strong showing at the plate as he added two hits of his own with an RBI. Moises Castillo led the team today with three hits in four at bats.
With the loss, the White Sox fall to 8-8 in Spring Training.
