As the 2021 season heads towards #Soxtober, we are looking to add to our incredibly talented team!
If you’re new to the page, Joe Binder (@JoeBinder) started Sox On 35th back in December 2016. Today, our crew is writing articles, selling koozies, recording live podcasts, hosting tailgates, and much more – and we want you to be a part of it!
If you’re passionate about baseball and want to get your start in sports journalism, or you’ve written before and want to get your name out there again, this is the team for you! We are looking for writers and graphic designers who want to share their work with our combined 55,000+ followers and the rest of baseball social media. If you have other relevant skills that you think could be valuable to our team, apply anyways for consideration!
Please note, prior experience creating content for an online platform is always beneficial, but certainly not required. We have a dedicated team of contributors who are more than happy to share their knowledge, guidance, and expertise with those who are just getting their feet wet in the sports media realm.

Frequently Asked Questions:
As a writer, how often am I expected to write?
Writers are expected to write at least two articles per month during the season: one Postgame Report, and one self-developed analytical article. During the offseason, we look for two total articles from the end of the Postseason to the beginning of Spring Training.
Additionally, we expect our writers to participate in any site-wide articles (HOF Voting, ASG Voting, Awards Voting, Power Rankings, etc.). There are plenty of ways to get involved in writing!
What topics can I write about?
The answer here is simple… just about anything. Our executive staff encourages all members of our team to get as creative as they’d like when preparing for an article. Frequently covered topics include news articles, game recaps, player analysis, and minor league reports. However, we accept topics regarding just about anything – as long as they’re relevant to the White Sox or baseball in general.
As a graphic designer, how often am I expected to create graphics?
Usually, our team will ask to design any article-specific or event-specific graphics (jersey swaps, important series, big signings, World Series). However, we have several new projects coming up and highly encourage our designers to be consistently creating graphics that can be shared on social media. This is a great opportunity for a lot of people to see your work! While being a White Sox fan is always preferred, it is not a requirement for this position.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please email us at SoxOn35th@gmail.com or DM Joe Binder on Twitter (@JoeBinder).
We hope you consider joining our talented staff in advance of what is sure to be a fun postseason! Go White Sox!
