The early Spring Training woes continue as the White Sox have lost their fourth-straight game.
After a promising six-run performance yesterday, the offense managed only a solitary run today. The score came after a Max Stassi triple followed by a Zach Remillard sacrifice bunt. Notably, this is the first time a White Sox catcher has tripled in Spring Training since James McCann in March of 2020.
On a brighter note, the pitching showed improvement. Deivi Garcia got the start and captured three strikeouts through two innings, only letting up a walk. Prelander Berroa, Tim Hill, and Jake Palisch also shined in their brief stints.
The Padres capitalized on the lack of offense with a two-run homer by Brett Sullivan in the 7th and a sacrifice fly from Ethan Salas in the ninth.
The White Sox are now 1-5 to start Spring Training.
