You win some and you lose some. Unfortunately for the Sox, the latter happened tonight despite a strong performance from Reynaldo Lopez.
The right-hander made his season debut and looked very sharp in his six innings of work. The only real mistake of his outing came when he surrendered a solo shot to Josh Donaldson in the sixth inning. Otherwise, Lopez gave up only two hits, two walks, and struck out six. If you are the White Sox, this is exactly the type of start you wanted to see from Lopez.
As for the offense, Welington Castillo led the charge with two home runs. His first was an absolute bomb to left-center field in the fourth off Jaime Garcia. Then, in the top of the 7th, “Beef” decided he wanted another and got it, this time to center to give the Sox a 2-1 lead. Jose Abreu also had a nice game, going 3-4 with a double.
These strong offensive displays weren’t enough for the Sox, though. In the seventh inning, Russell Martin smoked a 2-run homer off of Danny Farquhar to give the Jays a 3-2 lead. Then, Aledmyz Diaz hit a solo shot to lead off the eighth to put the nail in the coffin. The White Sox fell by a final of 4-2 and drop to 2-1 on the season.

Next Game: The White Sox look to rebound on Tuesday in game 2 of the series. Miguel Gonzalez will take the bump in his first start back with his former club. He is expected to face J.A.
