There was a little rain early on but that was no problem for the Sox. The team managed to hold their third intrasquad scrimmage when the skies cleared, which featured a very strange home run from Luis Robert.
Here’s a game log put together based on tweets by the media members in attendance.

Away team leads 3-0.
Bottom of the 3rd
Pitcher: Carlos Rodon
- Tim Anderson (1): Out, unknown.
- Luis Robert (2): Homers to left-center and falls down in the process. The reaction from Carlos Rodon says it all. Home team trails 3-1.

- Edwin Encarnacion (4): Singles off the glove of Rodon.
Away team leads 3-1.
Top of the 4th
Pitcher: Dylan Cease replaces Rodon.

- Luis Basabe (8): N/A
- Andrew Romine (9): N/A
- Nick Madrigal (1): Nick Madrigal reaches on a Tim Anderson throwing error that skips past Jose Abreu. The first baseman’s throw to second then bounced into left, allowing for Madrigal to advance to third. Ugly.
There were no additional updates from this inning so I’m not sure if it continued or ended here. The score also became lost at this point.
Bottom of the 4th
Pitcher: Jimmy Lambert replaces Lopez
- Yasmani Grandal (5): Strikes out looking.
- Eloy Jimenez (6): Strikes out swinging.
- Nomar Mazara (7): Homers to Goose Island in right field.

Score unknown.
Top of the 5th
Pitcher: Dylan Cease
- Andrew Vaughn (2) – Cheslor Cuthbert (5): N/A
- Yermin Mercedes (6): Strikes out
- Adam Engel (7): Strikes out
At some point after the Dylan Cease strikeouts were reported by MLB.com’s Scott Merkin, the game ended. It doesn’t appear that anyone had tabs on the final score, not that it matters at the end of the day.
The team will reportedly be playing a six-inning intrasquad game tomorrow with Monday’s falling between 6-7 innings. Wednesday will then be the squad’s first night game.
All of the scrimmages from Monday through Thursday will be available on NBC Sports Chicago’s My Teams app, with a select couple also being televised. Jason Benetti and Chuck Garfien appear to have the call.
