Lucas Giolito got his final tune up start before April 1, and he looked like his usual ace-self. Elsewhere, the lineup was solid and the bullpen did its job, and the White Sox find themselves back at .500 for the Spring at 11-11-5.
W: Lucas Giolito (2-1) L: German Marquez (0-1)
Position Players
The bats were certainly alive today, as the White Sox punted out 8 runs on 14 hits on their way to the victory this afternoon. Tim Anderson, Yoan Moncada, and Jose Abreu all had multi-hit games, including a homer from Abreu. Yasmani Grandal, Luis Robert, and Nick Madrigal are other regulars who added a hit to today’s win.
Pitchers
Lucas Giolito was dominant in his last start of the Spring, throwing 5.2 innings and giving just two hits in the effort. He walked three and struck out 9. He lowered his spring ERA to 1.17 in the process, and looks more than ready to go for Opening Day. Evan Marshall and Aaron Bummer also threw, with Bummer giving up a homer. Overall, another quality day for the White Sox pitching staff.
