For the first time this Spring, the White Sox have a winning streak! In what was a pitchers’ duel all afternoon, the White Sox used some late offense from Matt Reynolds to come out on top 1-0. With the win, the White Sox improved to 3-8-3 on the Spring.

Position Players
While we did see many regulars for the White Sox today, there wasn’t much to speak about on the offense. The Sox did record seven hits on the afternoon (Collins, Engel, Moncada, Burger, Jimenez, Reynolds) but could never string together enough hits to get anything going. Matt Reynolds’ 8th inning homer would prove to be enough, however.

Pitchers
The story today was the pitching staff. Lance Lynn threw 3.1 scoreless innings to start the afternoon, and the bullpen – considered a strength for the White Sox in 2021 – locked it down. Evan Marshall, Aaron Bummer, Codi Heuer, and Jose Ruiz allowed just one hit out of the bullpen in closing this one down.
The bullpen, start to finish, really did look awesome. Marshall and Bummer continued to do their thing, while Heuer mystified A’s hitters this afternoon. Ruiz snapped off some excellent sliders too. As these bullpen pieces get more innings this Spring, we will continue to see just how dominant this bullpen really can be.

Monday vs. Cubs: Dylan Cease (CHW) vs. Alec Mills (CHC), 3:05 PM CT
Dylan Cease will make his Spring Training debut tomorrow afternoon against his former team. He will be opposed to start by Alec Mills, who threw a no-hitter last season.
