Spring Training Report: White Sox Mash Their Way to 9-4 Win

by Jordan Lazowski

The White Sox bats did not skip a beat this afternoon, as they pounded out nine runs on ten hits on their way to a 9-4 victory this afternoon. Dylan Cease looked great through five innings, and with the win, the White Sox improved to 9-11-5 on the Spring.

W: Dylan Cease (2-0) L: Jose De Leon (0-2)

Position Players

The offense today was led by Leury Garcia, Adam Eaton, Zack Collins, and Nick Madrigal, who each had two hits in the effort. Collins left the ballpark with a line drive to left field, while Leury Garcia drove in three runs and Eaton drove in two. Collins has been on a tear this Spring, and with Eloy Jimenez’s injury, it’s quite likely that Collins is the Opening Day DH.

Pitchers

Dylan Cease had another great outing today, giving up just one run in five innings, lowering his Spring ERA to 0.77 in the process. Michael Kopech gave up a home run in his outing and struck out one, while Jose Ruiz threw a scoreless inning as well.

Next Game

Friday vs. Brewers: Carlos Rodon (CWS) vs. Freddy Peralta (MIL)

Carlos Rodon will look to continue his excellent Spring tomorrow against the Brewers. He will face off against Freddy Peralta.

This game will be viewable on MLB Network and can be streamed on the MLB TV app.
