Well, the White Sox are intent on not wasting any wins in Spring Training! Pitching was the name of the game today, as a total of just four runs were scored today between the White Sox and the Mariners. Today’s lineup was the closest one yet to the Opening Day projected lineup.
Position Players
The White Sox’ offense was held rather dormant today, with regulars Tim Anderson, Adam Eaton, and Jose Abreu going hitless. Andrew Vaughn recorded hit 4th RBI on an RBI single in the effort today. All in all, two runs and five hits makes for a dull day – except for this unfortunate triple play.
Pitchers
Jonathan Stiever started the game today, throwing two innings and giving up just one run. His offspeed looked fantastic in the game, though he struggled with fastball command. Familiar faces Jose Ruiz, Kodi Medeiros, Zack Burdi, and Tayron Guerrero also pitched today, with just Ruiz giving up a run. Guerrero once again tight roped in and out of danger in the seventh.
