A late lineup consisting of a majority of minor league players proved to be the difference for the White Sox in Sunday’s 7-4 win over the Diamondbacks (8-14) as they used a 6-run 8th inning to propel to the win. Codi Heuer picked up the win after an inning of work and Liam Hendriks came in to shut the door for the save. With the win, the White Sox improved to 12-11-5 on the Spring.

Position Players
Tim Anderson led the way as the lone player with multiple hits in the game with a 2-for-3 day at the plate, jumping his spring average to .328.
The White Sox offense was limited for the majority of the game until the offensive onslaught in the 8th. Entering the inning trailing 4-1, Danny Mendick led off with a walk. First base replacement Zach Remillard followed the walk with an infield single, and Matt Reynolds drove both in with a gap shot to right-center to put the Sox down by one before a bases-loaded walk from Luis Robert tied the game. Marco Hernandez and Nick Williams followed with RBI singles a piece to extend the lead, and Luis Robert capped the onslaught with a steal of home on a wild pitch.
Pitchers
Dallas Keuchel got the start on the bump and struck out four while allowing two runs in five innings of work. He gave way to Michael Kopech in the 5th, whose control faltered at first, but he was able to escape his one inning of work with just two earned runs. The bullpen then completely shut the door as Garrett Crochet and Codi Heuer then each threw a shutout inning apiece before giving way to the closer Liam Hendriks, who picked up the save after protecting the Sox’ 3-run lead in the 9th.
