Tale of the Tape ’05 Edition: White Sox 4, Angels 2

by Sox On 35th Contributors

With the start of the White Sox regular season postponed due to coronavirus concerns, NBC Sports Chicago has decided to re-air 70 victories from the 2005 season from now until June. Here at Sox On 35th, we will also be following along and recapping those games for you in our Tale of the Tape series.

Date of Game: May 25, 2005

The White Sox jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead on the Angels, which pretty much set them on cruise control for the remainder of the game. Freddy Garcia earned win number five, surrendering two runs on seven hits, working his way through multiple jams with men in scoring position. After a somewhat sluggish start to the season, Paul Konerko really began to turn the corner, as he went 2-for-4, including a homer, his 12th, off of Jarrod Washburn. The White Sox would improve to 33-14 on the season.
