The battery-mates led the charge yesterday, as Reynaldo Lopez was dominant and Welington Castillo tallied eight total bases. With the win, the White Sox took the series finale in a pretty solid series for the South Siders.

The key to Reynaldo’s success yesterday? His slider was the best I’ve seen it all season. Of his 20 swinging strikes recorded, he got half of them (10) off of his slider. It had a lot more depth to it than usual and caused most of the Indians hitters to be off balance all day. It was quite the performance.

To further the conversation on just how dominant Lopez was yesterday, he allowed a total of two hard hit balls all game. Missing bats like that all game is an incredibly difficult thing to do, especially against a lineup like the Indians. This truly was Reynaldo Lopez’s game yesterday.
