Moment of the Game

The Moment of the Game happened before it even started. In raising awareness for childhood cancer, the White Sox had children standing at each position before the game so each child could meet a player and get an autograph. This is just one of many instances of the White Sox doing something in the community, and it is always an incredible sight.

Stats On 35th: Let’s Break this one down By the Numbers

22.0/-5.5

Last night’s MVP and LVP, in terms of Win Probability Added (WPA) were Eloy Jimenez (22%) and Jose Abreu (-5.5%). Last night was the first time Eloy Jimenez and Yoan Moncada have hit a home run in the same game. Odds are this won’t last for very long as Eloy enters year two of his career.

105

Yoan Moncada was 3-for-4 on the night, and all three hits has exit velocities above 105 mph. To square the ball up that consistently is certainly not easy to do. However, Yoan Moncada has been locked in against KC this year, going 26-for-69 thus far on the season.

1246

Last night was Dog Night at the ballpark, and according to Chuck Garfein, there were 1,246 good boys and girls at the ballpark to watch the White Sox 64th victory.

In an incredibly feat for a rebuilding team, the White Sox are one of two teams (Angels) to not have lost a game when leading after eight innings. Currently, the Sox are 52-0 when leading after 8 innings this season.
