White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson, who is celebrating his birthday today, is changing agencies and will now be represented by Klutch Sports Group. The 2019 batting champion was previously with Reynolds Sports Management.
Klutch Sports Group has recently skyrocketed up the list of most valuable sports agencies thanks to the work of notable NBA agent Rich Paul. Forbes ranked the agency number 27th overall on their 2019 World’s Most Valuable Sports Agencies list. Some of the group’s biggest clients include the Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James and Anthony Davis, as well as the Washington Wizards’ John Wall among many others. Although Klutch Sports has just tapped into baseball following the April acquisition of Tidal Sports, agent Brodie Scofield brought with him guys like the Houston Astros’ Alex Bregman – who just recently changed – and the New York Mets’ Marcus Stroman.
Anderson, 27, is coming off the best season of his career where he led the league with a .335 average. The White Sox previously reached a long-term deal with the shortstop back in 2017, that guaranteed him $25 million over six years. The contract also includes club options worth $12.5 million for 2023 and $14 million for 2024 with a $1 million buyout.
