The injury bug continues to strike against the White Sox.
Shortstop Tim Anderson is the latest victim as he was forced to exit Saturday’s game early due to an apparent injury. According to an update provided on Twitter, the White Sox say he exited the game due to right shoulder soreness and is considered day-to-day.
In the top of the third inning, Anderson took a walk but then was doubled off at first base on a Luis Robert Jr. fly out. He was reportedly seen talking with manager Pedro Grifol and trainer James Kruk in the dugout after the play but went back on to the field in the bottom of the inning. It wasn’t until the 4th inning when he was finally replaced in the field, with Zach Remillard coming in to play second base and Elvis Andrus shifting over to shortstop.
Anderson has struggled to perform at his career norms this season, carrying only a .250 batting average and a .584 OPS. After insisting that the idea of removing him from the leadoff spot had not crossed his mind just two days ago, Grifol swapped him and Andrew Benitendi in the lineup today, making Benitendi the new leadoff hitter for this game.
As the team provides more updates on Tim Anderson’s status, we will continue to provide updates here.

I think there is something fishy going on. Why would Grifol let Anderson go out to play short if got injured the previous inning, and then decide to take him out the next inning?
Could Grifol be disciplining Anderson and keeping it in-house by saying he is day to day with an injury? I would have sat TA immediately. His head has not been in the game.
The same old story again and again! When is management going to wise up to the fact that Anderson, along with the rest of the “core,” is injury prone?
