In some exciting news recently, Tim Anderson has officially teamed up with Chicago-based photographer Chris Tejeda to provide fans with plenty of new content. Tejeda, also known by his social media handle @FotoGenocide_, has been a long-time friend of ours here at Sox On 35th. If you have followed us on social media or just here on the website, chances are you have seen plenty of Chris’ great work. Together, he and Anderson have created a YouTube channel that will focus on Tim’s personal life and his overall values.
“The reason we started is because the marketing game is kind of bad in baseball, so who’s going to create that lane? So, I’m going to create that lane and give people behind the scenes,” Tim said in his first video. He went on to explain, “I’m to the point now in life, man, I’m trying to capture everything. I don’t want to miss nothing.”
Since the beginning of last season, Anderson has provided the Chicago White Sox organization and fanbase with a gigantic spark. Whether it was his “ride with us or get run over” quote or his inaugural bat flip against Kansas City, the shortstop energized the South Side from the get-go while also changing the game nationwide by evoking debate about the “unwritten rules.” His impact didn’t just end on the field either. Tim also gave back to the community more than ever before through his charity, League of Leaders. Just a quick glance through the group’s website or social media feeds and you’ll immediately see the countless things the batting champ has done to help those not only in the Chicago area, but in his home state of Alabama.
For Anderson, there’s not a more perfect time for him to spread his message and give fans a glimpse into a side of his life that we wouldn’t normally see. The game of baseball as a whole is in a position now where it needs change more than ever, especially when it comes to utilizing digital media to build its connection with fans. To see one of its rising stars in Anderson be willing to open up about himself on a personal level will only help to inspire more players to do the same. The idea and content we are about to see is not only innovative but could very well pave the way in improving baseball’s relationship with the next generation, as well as offering players a fresh way to market themselves and build their brand.
