The White Sox fell to the Dodgers 8-4, as the offense couldn’t quite pull through and the pitching staff struggled.
Lucas Giolito’s first start of Spring Training was not the prettiest, giving up a home run in the top of the first and allowing another run in the top of the second inning in two full innings of work. Kenyan Middleton later gave up a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth, extending the Dodgers’ lead over the Sox. Declan Cronin, Edgar Navarro, and Sammy Peralta all allowed one run in what was just an off day all around for the staff.
The bats finally came alive for the Sox late in the seventh, with Erik Gonzalez doubling, and Bryan Ramos and Gavin Sheets singling, but not enough was done to overcome the previous damage.
With the loss, the Sox have a Spring Training record of 5-4.
