Dylan Cease helped silence critics today. After a couple of rough appearances this spring, the 2022 AL Cy Young runner-up looked more like his normal self. In four innings, Cease struck out six compared to one walk and allowed one earned run on three hits.
On the offensive side, thanks to some sloppy defense by Seattle and some timely hits, the White Sox took the lead in the fifth inning. Sox catcher Seby Zavala helped extend the lead in the sixth thanks to a two-run home run, and Oscar Colas added to the Sox lead in the seventh inning with a solo home run, his third of spring training.
With the victory, the White Sox improved to 9-8 in the Spring season.
