White Sox 7, Rangers 0: Sox Slug Their Way to Win

The Sox used a big 7th inning to win today’s matchup at Camelback Ranch 7-0 over the Texas Rangers. In his second start of the Spring, Dylan Cease looked very sharp, working 4 innings while allowing 2 hits and striking out 3. Bennett Sousa, Reynaldo Lopez, Jose Ruiz, and Matt Foster all combined for the remainder of the shutout. Bennett Sousa pitched 1 inning with 1 strikeout. Reynaldo Lopez thew 2 scoreless innings and recorded 3 strikeouts. Jose Ruiz and Matt Foster combined for 2 scoreless innings as well. Matt Foster recored the final 3 outs, recording 2 strikeouts in the 9th.

Luis Robert opened the scoring in the 3rd with a RBI double, and later, Josh Harrison drove in Danny Mendick in the 6th. Then came the 7th inning, where Romy Gonzalez hit a solo homer, Seby Zavala hit a two-run homer, and Zach Remillard added to the home run parade with a two-run shot of his own.
