A few familiar beer companies will no longer be featured at Guaranteed Rate Field.
As first reported by FanSided’s Vinnie Parise, Goose Island Beer Co. is officially out as one of the team’s sponsors. Ashok Selvam of the Chicago Eater confirmed this news in an article on Monday evening and also included a quote from Goose Island President Todd Ahsmann.
“We are very proud of everything we accomplished together over the last few years, and we look forward to more ways to connect with Chicago fans.”

The Chicago brewery, which created a special team-inspired beer and held naming rights to the right field premium seating section, appears to have been outbid for the right’s as one of the team’s many new sponsors. Departing along with them will also be Revolution Brewing, known for its #SoxSocial Tap Room above the left field concourse. The company’s four-year contract expired, with the team electing to go in a separate direction rather than renew.
Now that Goose Island’s previously occupied right field section is up for grabs, there has already been some rumblings on Twitter regarding its replacement. The initial report by Parise and speculation of others seems to point to Miller’s parent company of Molson Coors as the proud new owners. Multiple sources close to Sox On 35th suggest this will be a significant eight-year deal that will feature prominent Miller Lite signage around the stadium and corner outfield fan section, though the team hasn’t made the move official just yet.
With the home opener coming on April 12th, the White Sox will likely make an official announcement within the next two weeks to unveil their new partnership. We will have to see whether or not this spells the end for select craft beers before we can officially react to this massive news.

Great! Both of those turn to poison in my mouth, happy to see new sponsors!
