White Sox invite 25 players to Spring Training

With Spring Training just a few weeks away, the White Sox have revealed their full list of Spring Training invites.

Starting with free agents, the White Sox are extending non-roster invites to nine players who have signed minor league deals:

In addition, the following 16 prospects from within the organization have been invited to big league camp:

  •  RHP (4): Mason Adams, Eric Adler, Peyton Pallette, Grant Taylor
  •  LHP (3): Trey McGough, Noah Schultz, Hagen Smith
  •  C (3): Adam Hackenberg, Edgar Quero, Kyle Teel
  •  INF (3): Tim Elko, Jacob Gonzalez, Chase Meidroth
  •  OF (3): Corey Julks, Braden Montgomery, Wilfred Veras

Some notable names here include Schultz (No. 16), Teel (No. 32), Smith (No. 34), Montgomery (No. 55), and Quero (No. 66), who all rank among MLB Pipeline’s newly released Top 100 prospects ranking. MLB.com also rates Schultz (No. 1) and Smith (No. 2) as the top two left-handed pitching prospects in baseball. According to the White Sox’s press release, this is the first time that feat has been achieved.

The first workouts for pitchers and catchers is scheduled for Wednesday, February 12, with the first full-squad workout set for Monday, February 17.
