Following a series win over the Boston Red Sox, the White Sox swapped a pair of 40-man roster bats on Monday. Shortstop Jose Rodriguez was optioned to Double-A Birmingham while outfielder Adam Haseley was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte.
Rodriguez, a 22-year-old, saw zero plate appearances after being called up exactly a week ago on June 19. He did cross the plate once after entering the game as a pinch-runner. “Popeye”, ranked as Chicago’s #6 prospect on MLB Pipeline, has managed a .238/.274/.429 slash line in Birmingham after starting the season cold before a June hot streak.
Adam Haseley, meanwhile, continues his rollercoaster promotion ride by entering his second stint in the majors this year. The 27 year-old and former first round pick has mustered just a .560 OPS in 36 major-league at-bats thus far, but recorded a .277/.365/.431 line in Charlotte.
