The White Sox defeated both the Royals and Mariners today during their split-squad matchups.
In the game against the Mariners saw Eloy Jimenez continue his strong start to Spring Training, with a pair of singles that each drove in a run. Down 5-3 heading into the seventh inning, the White Sox mounted a comeback with a Zach Remillard solo home run and a Danny Mendick two-run homer. Aaron Mcgarity recorded the save and the White Sox sealed a 6-5 victory.
Gavin Sheets lead the way in the White Sox 6-1 win against the Royals with a pair of solo home runs. Andrew Benintendi also recorded a multi-hit game with a double and a single. In Bailey Horn’s first appearance back with the White Sox, he pitched an inning of shutout ball.
With the pair of wins, the White Sox improved to 3-5 on the Spring Training season.
