Tomorrow brings the first Cactus League game of the spring!
As we await tomorrow’s opener, here are Thursday’s storylines regarding some injuries, some early pitching positives, and a new home for a White Sox homegrown player.
Katz provides updates on Cease, Kopech, Soroka
Pitchers have been the talk of camp early for the White Sox, with Ethan Katz giving the following notes regarding members of his staff:
- On Michael Kopech: “He’s been phenomenal. Ball’s coming out hot and he’s pounding the strike zone, so right now he’s in a great spot.”
- On Dylan Cease, who is already hitting 97 mph: “He looks really sharp, the fastball command is really good.”
- On Mike Soroka: “He’s moving different down the mound. What he was able to do prior to injuries is something he’s not able to do as much, so we’re kind of working with his new delivery, understanding how good the sinker was in years past, and trying to get him as close to that as possible with where he’s at with his delivery, what he can and can’t do.”
