Spring Training Broadcast Schedule Announced
There are plenty of opportunities to catch the Sox in action in Glendale. Seven games are televised on Chicago Sports Network, 10 are broadcast on ESPN Chicago, and six are streamed on whitesox.com.
Drew Thorpe making strides in recovery
Drew Thorpe continued his recovery from a bone spur in his right elbow yesterday, throwing a couple of side sessions, but he made it off the mound today for the first time since August.
Joey Gallo expressing excitement to work with Will Venable
After signing a minor-league contract that included a non-roster invite to Spring Training, Gallo is determined to make the team and fill any role that fits best. The 31-year-old is looking to land somewhere where he can recover from his .161 batting average in 2024. With experience playing with Will Venable, Gallo attests to Venable’s likeability in the clubhouse.
Colson Montgomery and Will Venable share playful banter
White Sox skipper Will Venable and shortstop prospect Colson Montgomery had some playful comments about each other’s basketball skills. Both guys played at various levels, with Montgomery participating at the high school level in Indiana and Venable collegiately in Princeton.
Chris Flexen signs minor-league deal with the Cubs
According to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal and Sahadev Sharma, right-handed pitcher Chris Flexen has agreed to a minor-league contract with the Cubs. The deal is pending a physical and will presumably include a non-roster invite to Spring Training.
