The stove has not cooled off any since the Dallas Keuchel signing. Here’s the latest White Sox rumors regarding players like Edwin Encarnacion, Nicholas Castellanos, and Luis Robert.
White Sox in pursuit of Edwin Encarnacion
Bruce Levine of 670 The Score first reported the team’s interest in Edwin Encarnacion on Sunday. He said the White Sox had talks with Encarnacion’s camp at the Winter Meetings and have been in touch since. Hector Gomez followed up by saying that the Sox have emerged as the front-runners now that Travis Shaw signed with Toronto.

MLB Network’s Jon Heyman later confirmed the rumors by saying the team has indeed been in pursuit of the veteran. He even went as far to say the White Sox were at the forefront of talks, though no deal will likely be announced until after the holidays.

MLB Network’s Jon Morosi reports that the White Sox remain interested in outfielder Nicholas Castellanos, even after the Dallas Keuchel signing.

While on the subject of outfielders, insider Ken Rosenthal mentioned on MLB Network that he believes Marcell Ozuna would likely still be of interest to the team.
Luis Robert contract extension on the horizon?
James Fox of Future Sox reports that the White Sox and outfield prospect Luis Robert have begun talks on a contract extension, per a source.

It will be interesting to see if the two parties can reach a deal as locking up Robert would be a significant signing for the team moving forward. As you may remember, the organization did something similar with Eloy Jimenez last March, signing him to a six-year-year, $43 million contract with two club options that could carry the deal through 2026.
