White Sox Update: Season Ticket Prices, Television Broadcast Team

by Joe Binder

The White Sox announced a few updates for the 2025 season on Wednesday, some of which involve a change for the fans.

White Sox to reduce season tickets by 10%

With invoices expected to go out for 2025 season tickets today, those who have remained loyal can expect some relief.

White Sox senior VP Brooks Boyer shared that there will be an average 10% reduction in season-ticket prices for the 2025 season. Some variations will still be in place so it won’t be a flat 10% across the board, he made clear.

“We understand where all the ticket prices are, whether it’s season ticket prices, secondary market, with everything that is going on. After looking at that, understanding where we are organizationally, we thought it was important that it’s something we do for our season-ticket holders who have been very loyal to us.”

The White Sox are in the midst of their third straight season with declining ticket sales. While dropping season-ticket prices won’t drastically change this trend, it’s a nice gesture for those still attending regularly.

Schriffen, Stone expected to return in 2025

During his meeting with the media, Boyer was also asked about the team’s plans for the new Chicago Sports Network, beginning alongside the Blackhawks and Bulls in early October.

Boyer didn’t offer much when speaking on the personnel who would make up the network. He did, however, comment on the television broadcast booth, where he expects play-by-play announcer John Schriffen and color commentator Steve Stone to return.

“If you listen to the baseball broadcast, they’re really good. They are a quality broadcast,” Boyer said. “Steve Stone is one of the very best in the business. John does a really good job of bringing Steve in and out and letting him be what he is, which is an amazing analyst.”

Stone recently caused rumors to swirl after some recent comments made on X. While we don’t know his long-term plans just yet, it appears the broadcaster may address his future sometime later this season.

So tickets prices are being cut by 10%…. but what Brooks did not tell you… Concessions prices are going up 25% across the board to cover that 10% reduction.

10% is a joke…. The clown show organization, if they are serious, should do 25% to season tickets holders and 15% on individual game tickets. And, do away with the tier pricing, at least temporarily on so called premium games. Do that you and might buy a little credibility.

But, Ebenezer Jerry has shown his true colors time and again. All here cares about is his balance sheet.

Of course Boyer commends Schriffen. He has to, he chased Jason out. Joke of a move. Will the new network cost us commoners extra money?

Schriffen needs to go!!! He’s the worst play by play announcer I’ve ever heard!!! Steve Stone is great!! Gordon Beckham is just as bad as Schriffen!!

10% is an insult for the product Ebenezer Reinsdorf and the clown show is offering. And, I’m sure the concessions prices will go up to compensate for the so called discount.

Bottom line, any money spent on a Reinsdorf endeavor…. is a wasted one. Even if admission was free, I still will not go. Not until the Reinsdorf stench has been washed away and a complete fumigation done.
